Q&A - Personal
What inspires you to compete?
I have always been a competitor, no matter what sport I am in. It is in my blood. I am inspired by my dad, mom, brother, wife and my soon to be daughter. More than anything I like to do well for them. Also, I just want to be the best I can be.
Why do you like this sport?
I love this sport because of the camradarie at races and events. It is like a second family to me at the races. Also, I just love the competition and showing everyone what I can do.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
Before recently, my training just consisted of riding. Everything came natural to me. Now that I am in the PRO class, I have to work alot harder. I have been running, riding the stationary bike, riding my mountain bike, alot of cardio fitness and some strength training.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I have been married for about a year and a half now and we are expecting our daughter on Jan 3, 2008. I started riding at age 5 when my father was a local pro. I raced until about age 12 when injuries forced me to retire. In between, I went to school and played other sports, such as, soccer and basketball. In 2005 when I was 23, I started riding and racing again. I moved through the novice class in 2 years and through the Amateur (B) class in one year. I will be starting my first year in the PRO class this year and we will see where it goes from here. I believe I have all the skills and attitude to go as far as I want!
Employment / Experience Summary
Work, hmmm. Well if it wasnt for work I wouldn't be racing these scooters. I went to college and I received my bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and right now I am working as a Field Engineer for a geotechnical engineering firm to support this racing habit of mine.
