Pain

So I finally got back on the slopes after three long months of being laid up from a knee injury. I'm back to 100% after about 2 runs. The next day my friends and I head into the woods to huck some cliffs. The landing was partially blind and I thought I could do it with no difficulty at all. I pop off the edge, and as soon as I see the landing, a windpacked snowdrift that had crusted over, I knew I was in trouble. I hit the ground hard enough to break hte crust, and almost popped out of both my skis. Because of the crust, I railed striaght into a stand of old-growth maple trees (OWWW). My friend was snow boarding, and decided to try the cliff at a different angle than I did (not a bad idea). He just happened to come down on an old ski track and tumbled for a few feet. Now that he had the landing all scoped out, he thought he'd give it a shot with the camera rolling. So he hiked back up and I got into position, and the other people around either closed their eyes (you know who you are) or waited in anticipation. He came off the lip with good form, but the landing just wasn't right for that big of a cliff. When he hit the ground, he bounced about five feet downhill, landing on his hand. When he got up, he took off his glove and there was a very obvious bump (1/4 inch) where there wasn't one before. Talk about pain.
