Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I got started riding when my dad bought me a 1980's XR 80 when I was 10 years old, and I loved it. Next I bought a 1989 CR 80 and started racing at a local indoor event, I placed 4th and loved the rush of racing and never turned back.

List your competitive highlights:

Racing at Loretta Lynn's Amateur nationals in 2001 in both 125 C Stock and Mod classes. Also in October 2001 I raced in the Arena cross Amateur championship in the MGM Grand Garden Arena

What are you planning for next season?

Next Season I have my goals set on going to Loretta Lynn's again.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Competing at Loretta Lynn's National 2001 in 125 C Stock and Mod classes.

Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

Michael Phelps, inspiration that determination and perseverance can take you where you want to go.

Why do you like this sport?

I love motocross and motorcycle sports because of the great brotherhood of all riders. I met many riders this weekend I was competing with who said they were "sorry for cutting me off" or "good luck out there be safe". I think motocross is a great thing to bring people with similar interests together.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Yes, mainly running, I also do push-ups and pull-ups. And go rock climbing when I can. I do those things you squeeze with your hand to reduce arm pump. And I also ride and practice as much as I can.

Why do you compete?

I compete for the experience. I think you can practice and train all you want but there is nothing like the thrill of racing. I believe it is a great outlet to get kids off the couch on the weekends and prevent them from getting into the wrong crowd so to speak. I believe without racing my life would be completely different.

How's Life Treating You?

Great, I am in the best shape of my life, and am excited to push it to the next level.
