News

November 1,2008-

My practice I could only do one lap because I couldn't shift up. The reason why is that on the way to the races my bike was not strapped so amazingly good and it fell over and bent the gear shifter. But my mechanic (Dad) got his tools and fixed it. Unfortunately not in time to finish the practice. After that I did my first heat. I was in third for 3 laps then on the 4th lap I took the inside right before a straight away and passed another guy and was in 2nd. I held on until I got to the woops. I crashed on that corner right before the woops. I pulled my clutch in and didn't lose much time but I didn't catch up to him. I qualified for the main by finishing 3rd. In the main I took second by the first corner. A guy passed me in the woops and I held on third for 4 laps. On the last lap I took inside right before the straight away and we were elbow to elbow. I just took it on the corner and was in second. I  held on till the woops were he passed me again. I tried to pass him after right before a burm, but he blocked me. I got to the 2nd to last corner of the race I took inside and he took outside. We were elbow to elbow again. I came around the last corner a little bit faster and took 2nd in the main!

Minnesota Fun Before The Season

Q&A - Competition -Alec LaBelle

How did you get started?

I got started when we up north in Minnesota and my ATV broke down and it broke down and the compression was already low but it wouldn't start so it was either go home 8 hours in the 3rd day out of 6 days in the trip or by a new ATV because renting a atv for 2 days was 500 dollars! So we came to the decision to by a bike because I've never had one. Then when I got home I wanted to race motocross. I already wanted to race my ATV so it was sort of an easy decision.

List your competitive highlights:

I got first on my first and second race and took away first in that series. Also in my second series I got 2.

What are you planning for next season?

What I'm planning for next season is to step it up and really try to make a difference in my season and make people wowed.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

My biggest accomplishment is getting 1st in my first race in my whole life. It was amazing and I was smiling under my helmet.

Q&A - Personal -Alec LaBelle

What inspires you to compete?

What inspires me to compete is the feal of racing against other kids and always wanting to be number one.

Why do you like this sport?

I like the sport because it has a flavor that no other sport has. I can ride every day and not get sick of it.

Describe your style...

My style is after Ricky Carmichael's. I go fast find my rhythm and sometimes try new things.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Yes, I train. I train on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. My schedule is going to school going to a local shop to go do my homework. I get it done and then come home and ride then workout. When I do train on the weekends my schedule is working out at 9 a.m. riding at 11 a.m riding a little bit more but like a cool down at 2 p.m. and then sometimes running at 4 p.m. This routine definately makes me sleep good.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be just like Ricky Carmichael when I grow up.
