Well, The race on the 28th was one of those days in racing where nothing goes right.

In practice, we had a rocker arm break, got that fixed, and on the very next practice, we threw a belt.  Plus a few other minor problems. Nothing that could have been prevented back at the shop, just a couple fluke deals.

We qualified 9th out of 15 for the feature, Not my best qualifying effort. When the feature went green, I had worked my way up to 6th, with a pretty good car under me. I was beginning to think the days gremlins had left me................The car began smoking badly from the right side every time I went into the corner. It got to the point the inside of the car was filled with smoke.

Long story short,  we parked it. When we looked, we found the valve cover gasket on the right side had not been put back in properly when we were repairing the broken rocker, and was pouring oil onto the header every corner.

Hopefully, we've excised our Demons, and will be back on track on the 11th!
