Company Background
Company Background:
True Snowboards was born in the UK in a top secret (not really) military lab under armed guard (really!) & is currently researching new materials and board designs to continue offering the best snowboards technology allows!
Liza Brooks, Chief of Engineering, Design, & being Chill (I certainly hope she likes her new title...) is currently working towards the world's first Doctorate of Engineering in Snowboard Design - and along the way, True riders around the world will get to ride & compete on her latest kick ass creations.
At the end of the 2007/2008 season we decided that it wasn't fair for the UK, France, Sweden, Italy & the rest of Europe to be the only places True Snowboards could be bought/shipped to... so, as of 2008, True Snowboards are available in Canada & the USA.
Just like in Europe, you won't find our boards in any shops - and we like it that way - the only place anyone can get one is via our website at trueSNOWBOARDS.com as "cutting out the middleman" & shipping directly to you allows us to sell a board made of top notch materials at up to 50% less than the competition. We think it's only fair that you, the snowboarders of the world, can get a great board at a decent price - and I'm sure you'd agree with us!
True's Nomination for the Vancouver 2010 Official Noodle CoverQ&A - Self Interview
Will you sponsor me?
Maybe! We're currently seeking riders under 18 in Canada & the USA with podium finishes in recognized competitions who have an eye on the 2010 & 2014 Winter Olympics. If that sounds a lot like you, shoot us a message.
What do you provide sponsored riders with?
It varies rider to rider, their past competition results, the number of events they intend on competing in this season etc. We've put together a structured sponsorship program with the following sponsorship levels:
Grom
Bronze Medal
Silver Medal
Gold Medal
Flow
and a separate class for the friendly riders out there who work full time in the snowboarding & mountain resort industry.
Benefits range from free shipping & swag, to discounts, to free snowboards for the best of the best - HOWEVER - we've setup a program unique to True Snowboards' sponsored riders that enables all Team Riders from Grom to Flow (& Industry) to earn free swag, other benefits, and even free snowboards for doing their best to promote True on their local hills. If we see True's sales success growing as a direct result of your efforts, you will be rewarded. 8)
If I live in the USA do I have to pay duty on my new board?
Not at the moment! True Snowboards North America is so close to the Canada-USA border that we're willing to go the extra mile (ok, 14.16 miles) in our inaugural North American season to import your new board to the USA for you & ship it from within Washington State. We're really cool like that. 8)
Do I have to pay double S&H if my buddy and I both want our boards shipped to the same address?
Nah! Why? Because that would suck for you, and we won't have any part of that. Just shoot us an email ahead of time & we'll make some special arrangements for you.
How long will you take to respond to me?
We'll do our best to respond to sponsorship applications within 1 week of receiving them. If we're slower than that, it merely means we're experiencing higher than expected application volume and/or we're out of the office because it's a sweet powder day. :p
