It was a rainy weekend at MT Hood. The sun peaked out a few times, but in all it was a slippery course. I had a pretty good 1st run, just a few seconds behind 1st place. On my 2nd run I didn't fair so well. I slid to the inside of the course on the last turn and went straight into a rock, which caused me to fly over the handle bars. I face planted a rock. After taking a few moments to get my bearings, I slowly finished my race, seeing how I was already out of the running, I took my time. Later I heard how some of the Pros felt the course was to slippery and they weren't doing there 3rd runs. After looking at all the DNS I felt a little better knowing that even though I didn't finish 1st, I still ran all my runs. Here's to a Semi-Safe 8th place and the ability to race next week. Blowout is right, after traveling almoust 5 hrs to a race, I was mistakenly told the wrong start time for my run. Man, that sucked, Beacon is one of the best courses in the PNW. I guess theres always next year.
