High Altitude Classic
Hey there! Just got back from Cloudcroft, NM and the annual High Altitude Classic downhill race. It is a two course format with best combined time taking it. The two short courses were sweet. The ground had just the right moisture content for excellent traction and minimal dust. The turn out was decent with 10 pro riders. I posted two fairly good times which was good enough for second place. Yes, I am pretty stoked with this result. It was another great weekend.

Sea Otter '07
The 2007 Sea Otter Classic went down with no glitches. The weather was great, it rained Saturday but I was not competing. The only event I competed in was the downhill. The course was pretty similar to last year except the end was changed to have a more gradual downhill grade instead of being flat all the way to the finish. The bike I rode was the Giant Reign XO, it performed beyond expectations, such a sweet ride. Both Thursday and Friday practice were great, no spills, just speed. When race day rolled around on Sunday I was ready. My game plan was to take it easy at the top and then give it all at the bottom. My effort was decent. But, when I got to the finish line I wasn't even tired and barely winded. I really should have pushed it harder but how was I to know. This was the first race in a while and I did not really know where my fitness level was at, but now I do. Overall it was good. I ended op 43rd out of about 115 riders. It was my best showing at the Otter to date. Another race done and I am happy. Hope to see you all in Angel Fire. Later.
