My Sports

2008. It's here, so lets get to it.

So, new year I guess means a bit of a tidy up of the oul profile. So here it is.

I'm Emma, although most people call me Mib. I am 17, live in Northern Ireland, (aka Norn Iron) ride a hardtail downhill, and next week or so I should have a kona stinky to thrash about - keep an eye out for pics!

If you know me from anywhere, unless its work where Im suprisingly quiet (probably because I am the only one who speaks english - i wash dishes in a chinese).. you will probably know I am quite an impulsive person, speak my mind quite often, and also am a 'bit' of an adrenaline junkie. I will try anything once, life's short, so lets make the most of it right?

At the minute I have 3 different shades of blue in my hair, so I'm a tiny bit of a rebel but mostly just adventurous. However, when it comes down to business, I have limits. Not when riding, no never, but I have respect for my sponsors, and other bikers - especially the uplift guys!! haha - because you won't get yourself anywhere without friends, and it's a long way to push up a mountain.

Over the next month or so I doing my GCSE's (big state exams in the UK - which pretty much affect the rest of your life no matter how much we dont want it to...) So I'm not riding as much, and am concentrating on studying real hard, getting my grades so I can stay in school go on later in life to become some sort of geologist. I would like to say 'professional mountain biker who kicks everyones ass (but I do that already haha) but it's generally a good idea to have qualifications incase it doesn't work out right?

I know that while representing sponsors, my actions will reflect back on my sponsors,  so when at the trails, I act professionally, and make the best impression as possible. I don't cause trouble, show a lack of respect for my stuff, or get drunk and make a total ass of myself. (not very often anyway)
I look after my bike, my kit and myself. I always try my best, and do my best to always get my sponsors out there, they have recognised me, so now, 2008, it's time for everyone else to know who they are.

So with 2 guns in my back pocket (thanks Evomo!!),

Lets kick ass.

2008: Year Plan

So this is the game plan for this year:

  • Enter some more races
  • Save up enough for a new bike
  • Get to tollymore more often
  • Find some more new trails, meet the locals, and spread the word about my awesome sponsors
  • Ride more obviously, even too much is never enough
  • Build up the local trails again, and add a North Shore section
  • Get properly into downhill
  • Get a movie

Quite a wee list, but aim for the stars and fall on a cloud huh?

Hey Emma! Have you been to a race yet this season? I got my first one out of the way last weekend, it rattled my nerves a bit because I didn't really know what to expect, but it was a ton of fun. I wish I had the money to go race every weekend now! :) Anyway, let me know how your races go, and have fun!
