How long have you been riding and racing?
I recieved my first dirt bike at age 3 from my dad. It was a PW50, that he custom built purple for me complete with training wheels. I soon realized that dirt bikes weren't for me when my dad bought me my first atv at age 4. I have been riding since i was three and started racing flat track in 2003 on my custom Lt 80. For 2004 i started motocross on my custom ATV. It was a blaster body with a yz85 motor in it. My dad custom built it also. Last year (2006) was my first year on my yfz450. The jump from a 85 to a 450 was very new to me.
How did you get involved in motocross?
My father introduced me to the sport at a very young age. He has been racing my entire life, and before I was born. He still competes today in the +30 A and +40 A classes. Also my uncle and younger cousins race. Motocross is really a family sport to me.
Tell me about your ride.
I race a 2004 YFZ 450. It is very unique. There is not another one like it. My father/Mechanic custom built it for me. It has about every top of the line after market part available. It has $15,000+ invested in it
Explain your 2006 race season
The 2006 race season was an introductory season for me. I went from the 90cc class to the 450 class. It was a big jump for me. The district acutally asked me to move up to the B class for 2007, but I requested that I stay in the C class. I wanted to be at the top of my game to move up to B. In 2006 i landed 8th in District 22. I also raced in the series that Hawkeye Downs, out of Cedar Rapids, Ia, held. I recieved 6th place overall (out of 30+ riders). I also earned the #4 place overall for the Twisted Throttle Racing series out of Central City.
What are your expectations for 2007?
I plan to get a little more competitive for next year. I am now comfortable on my 450. My goal is to get 1st in the District 22 Series. I also plan to attend the Walnut, Illnios,Red Bud, and Loretta Lynns GNC nationals. I also would like to check out the WPSA National series.
